Notes from the Whisky Team:
A contest on how to reach the most intense flavours. On the one side a whisky from distillery 36, which uses worm tub condensers used to create heavier styles of whiskies, paired with a PX barrique that actually aged sherry at a bodega brfore being used in whisky maturation, bringing its fair share of sweet old wine funk and less wood influence to the party. On the other side, a time-tested combination of fruity whisky, sherry sweet darkness, and tannic umami chewiness. Both textural drams of opposite persuations but both packing an almost unreasonable amount of flavour. Another comparison study between casks of different sherry types, but also spirits of different production pedigree.
