Notes from the Whisky Team:
Combine a fruity speysider with a sweet sherry cask and you're pretty much certain the result will be impressive. Here though we have two different approaches to the same idea. Distillery 80's fruity flavours associated with lashings of intensely sweet oloroso form a brand new sherry cask gives you the traditional dark and super rich profile of Deep, Rich & Dried Fruits. On the other side there's Distillery 41 offers a well matured 17 year old whisky that has spent time in a hogshead of even darker and sweeter sherry, but that has been used for whisky once before. This offers more restraint and more refinement while giving more space to the fruity whisky from distillery 41. One to study cask influence and number of fills. Or simply enjoy two different shades of sherry cask influence.
