Tasting Notes

Eight-year-old single malt, in selected casks from this distillery, was combined and then developed further in various casks. This first fill bourbon barrel is one of them. The nose melded smoke from heather muirburn with heather honey, driftwood, sandalwood incense and white pepper. The full-bodied palate delivered a whack of citric-and-lavender-perfumed smoke, Chinese chilli pork ribs and exotic fruits (lime, pineapple, mango and plum jam). The reduced nose evoked smoke from a burning man-o-war, highland mountainside floral perfumes and blueberry/blackberry sherbet fizziness. On the palate we now found morello cherries and salted lemons mixed with sweet chargrilled scallops and bonfire popcorn.
