Tasting Notes
An all-encompassing aroma of ‘flaming rum bananas’ as well as ‘boozy knickerbocker glory’ was followed on the palate neat by a bowl full of berries with Kirsch (cherry brandy) and mint. With a drop of water we were picking fresh strawberries in the field on a hot afternoon and the mouthfeel was now so velvety, so succulent - floral, perfumed, teasingly sweet with a hint of gingerbread spice and a slice of sticky malt loaf in the finish. An absolutely enticing and alluring sample which after sixteen years in an ex-bourbon hogshead was transferred into a 2nd fill toasted oak hogshead.
