Tasting Notes

The nose seemed playful and confectional – jelly and fruit chews, tooty frooties and foam shrimps, plus some tropical fruits (papaya, mango etc) – and there was even a summer cricket pavilion vibe, with grass, wood, paint and linseed oil. The palate introduced bubble gum; carbonated grape, raspberry and blackcurrant candy shells; grapefruit and pineapple pop; pink grapefruit and hibiscus tea, but also carried warm spicy notes of raw ginger, red chilli and clove. Water took us to high summer – the nose had flowers, hay bales in the sun, toffee pennies, candy floss and pineapple chunks. The palate served up strawberry laces and cloudy lemonade, barley sugars and lime sweets – with just a warm tingle to finish.
