As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, members of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society from 13 countries have gathered at our spiritual home, The Vaults in Leith, Edinburgh, to sample and select casks to be bottled for our worldwide The Gathering events in September.
The competition winners from China, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada and across Europe took part in an historic event for the Society – the first time that members have ever selected whiskies, named bottles and written Tasting Notes.
During their visit, the group also met with our trailblazing founder, Pip Hills, experienced a sensory training session and visited our Queen Street venue.
