At The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, we pride ourselves in offering our members the very best whisky, which includes our incredible range and variety of delicious sherry cask-matured bottlings. We go to great lengths to source the best casks from Spain, working directly with renowned suppliers and exercising close control over every aspect of the maturation process.
So we’re delighted that the judges at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) have recognised the outstanding quality of the Society’s sherry cask-matured whiskies in this year’s competition. We’ve landed a magnificent seven medals for our selection of sherry cask-matured whiskies, all of them part of our additional maturation programme.
The awards included six gold and one silver medal, which brings the Society's total number of awards to 314 awards since 2018.
“If sherry cask-matured whisky is your preferred flavour profile, we like to think that The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is the best place to come to find fantastic quality and a wide range of cask types that have held a variety of sherry wines,” said Kai Ivalo, the Society’s Whisky Director. “These awards encompass both our American oak and Spanish oak casks, ex-bodega casks and the sherry seasoned casks that we commission specially for our own use. It also demonstrates the strength of our additional maturation programme in offering our members the very best of sherry cask-matured drams.”
