Tasting Notes

A bit of a conundrum this – curious, intriguing and brain stimulating – as the nose gave us sherbet straws, toffee and white chocolate mice, cocktails with lime, petrichor shrubberies and a perfumed silk scarf draped over freshly steamed oak. The sweet palate had banana toffee, cinnamon swirls and American candy corns, battenberg cake and apricot jam, stroopwafels, hints of glue, tobacco strands and verbena. With water, the nose discovered banana splits, vanilla slice, marshmallows and fruit teas, with honey smeared on oak. The palate now offered almond essence on a sugar cube, wood shavings, grappa, brandy snaps and key lime pie – a wonderful enigma.
