Tasting Notes
There was an exotic fruity vibe, initially with aromas of pineapple, mango and banana. Yet at the same time we found the scent of salt and vinegar crisps as well as Worcestershire sauce in a smoky bloody mary. The taste reminded some of us of getting fish and chips wrapped in yesterday’s newspaper, after the pubs closed at 11pm; a little oily, fishy and lightly smoky – not sure why we liked it, but we certainly did! Following reduction more smoke was revealed in the form of burning pine needles and, on the palate, a liquorice sweetness and the malty, oaky flavour of tarry lapsang souchong tea.
