Tasting Notes

A straight-up wee fruit bomb, this much was obvious from the outset. We noted passion flowers, nettles, mint julep, mango, guava, green herbs, starfruit and tropical bubblegum. It's a total juicefest! With water the nose became a little firmer and sweeter, with frangipane, peach schnapps, orange juice and lime cordial, and a touch of hoppy IPA in the background. The neat palate was superbly oily and exotic: olive oil mixed with pineapple and grapefruit pop we mused, alongside tropical fruit teas and jams with runny honey and some overripe orchard fruits. Dangerously easy and fun. With water it retained this superbly intense fruitiness while also revealing sweet ales, fresh soda bread, aged calvados and sweet cider with plenty of warm floral qualities.
