An expressive and enticing aroma greeted us, lots of suggestions of freshly baked, glazed pastries. Things like almond croissant, fruit scone mix, stollen, cider apple, sourdough bread spread with honey and toasted fennel seed. Intriguing stuff! With water we found it became more peppery, with notes of fresh linens, sandalwood, lemon peel, dried raspberries and bramble leaf. The neat palate opened with a big, hearty dollop of lemon curd sweetness. They fruit salad juices, lime cordial, some greener grassy notes and clotted cream. Water brought more bramble leaf notes, blackcurrant, wintergreen, herbal tea and flower honey. Extremely enjoyable.
