Tasting Notes
This delivered a big blast of Turkish delight, rosewater, hibiscus, orange blossom and floral runny honey or, as one Panellist described it, "like a strawman doused in perfume". It was vibrant and juicy on the palate, with the gentle, sweet spiciness of an anise liqueur with notes of black liquorice, rock candy and straw. Following reduction, we recalled memories of how we created a tulip bed as we now enjoyed their radiant blooms after a short, sharp spring shower. The taste was refreshing, with a hint of sweetness like assorted fruit bonbons, mint drops and liquorice comfits, a traditional confectionery with a colourful hard sugar coating and a chewy liquorice centre.
