Tasting Notes
Mouths watering, the Panel entered a pactisserie, with its enticing aromas of lemon meringue pie, banana bread and honey-glazed apple doughnuts, as well as roasted chestnuts and pecan snowballs. On the palate, we first bit into a warm piece of apple cinnamon tart and honey on buttered crumpets before a grassy, peppery note with the intense citric fruit flavour of grapefruits and lemons appeared. Following reduction, we poured a glass of cloudy lemonade and had a croissant filled with sweet apricot jam. To taste, we tucked into millefeuille puff pastry, toffee apples and an apricot custard danish. In the finish was a peppery note, like in a spicy honey and grapefruit margarita.
