Tasting Notes
The nose delighted us with lashings of limoncello, sherbet and verbena, plentiful pear drops, green apples in a basket and musty-dusty hay barns. Unsurprisingly, we found cloudy lemonade, lemon barley sugars and orange zest on the palate, along with the spritzy, punchy, lively fizz of a vintage champagne bellini, followed by ginger beer spice and oaky tannins on the finish. The reduced nose developed some unexpected floral elements and puff pastry cream horns. The palate was now dominated by pick ‘n’ mix sweets, especially fizzy and chalky ones, heather flowers, bourbon cocktails and sweet, creamy maltiness.
