Tasting Notes
On the nose, we spread blackcurrant jam over a heavy oilskin raincoat, before adding eastern spices and a crumb of crushed breakfast cereal topped with mace-infused honey. Sweet upfront, the palate gave us a tin of fruit salad, bubblegum and a light Caribbean spiced rum punch. Water introduced a perfume of joss sticks, five spice, orange oil and condensed milk poured over tea leaves. The finish was very unlike the nose, dry upfront, with a wave of spice. Hold your ground at this stage for an adventure into rowan jelly and ginger, nutmeg and grappa.
