Tasting Notes
The neat nose was full of strawberry ice cream, freshly ground black pepper, white balsamic vinegar, overripe cherries, raisins soaked in orange juice and chocolate-covered dates. Water revealed freshly roasted mixed nuts, dried apricot, fruit-laden muesli, blood orange and cocoa powder. The palate, when neat, was intense, with big notes of strawberry jam, muscovado sugar and creamy porridge full of dark honey, plus shisha tobacco, mince pies, strong black tea and fresh espresso. Water brought more pure flavours of strawberry and raspberry, along with liqueur chocolates, red liquorice, marzipan and crème de cassis in black coffee. At 10 years of age, we combined selected casks from the same distillery. We then returned the single malt into a variety of different casks to develop further. This is one of those casks.
