The green, floral, fruity nose evokes summer days of sun-blessed leisure – hay fields and flower meadows, apple blossoms, raspberries and banana – plus sweet intimations of toffee tarts and cream soda. The palate contains a mixture of sweetness and tart fruits – marshmallows dipped in chocolate, strawberries and cream, juicy pear and plum jelly – also hints of beeswax and linseed oil and a drying finish of desiccated coconut, nutmeg and ginger. The summer feeling intensifies on the reduced nose – ice-cream wafers, honey, white truffle, bergamot and sun-warmed grass. The palate now majors on sponge cake (with custard), nougat, walnut whip and sweet cinnamon and ginger warmth.
