Tasting Notes
The nose was unusual – light and heady, with floral, herbal and perfumed elements – evoking childhood memories of rose petal and musk soap, river weeds, cough mixture and liquorice and blackcurrant "retro sweets". Similar notes accompanied the warmth of the neat taste – hedgerows, lavender and thyme, perfumed sweets (including parma violets), exotic wood, modelling glue and summer fruit cordial. Adding water turned the nose to bath salts and swimming pools, dried flowers, potpourri, feverfew, old-fashioned perfumes, barley sugars and earl grey tea. The palate now discovered digestive biscuits and a range of confectionery – including Edinburgh rock, acid drops and sugar-coated sour teddy bears.
