This dram captivated our senses and drew us in as we imagined starting a barbeque with burning pine cones or preparing spiced red wine-poached pears. Seriously spicy on the palate like chewing three Big Red gums (hot and spicy cinnamon flavoured) at once; this certainly took our breath away. We recovered and after the addition of water the heat was still prevalent but now a sweetness appeared as we had Turkish coffee and a baklava - filo dough, melted chocolate chips, chopped walnuts, cinnamon, lemon juice and honey. In 2018 we combined selected Oloroso butts before returning the single malt to a variety of different casks to develop further. This is one of those casks.
