Tasting Notes
A wedge of wholemeal toast as thick as a bus featured hand paintings in butter, honey and thick-cut marmalade that depicted Stone Age apple picking and popcorn making. Then a slab of shortbread of comparable girth was discovered alongside a megalith of caramel cake to create a towering henge akin to a neolithic homage to baking. Like flavour archaeologists we dug deeper, adding water to unearth stratified layers of glacé cherries, melon and tobacco, while at the foot of the monument grew fragrant chamomile and meadow flowers. Matured for five years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, this was then transferred to a heavy toast, medium char hogshead.
