Sherry Week
International Sherry Week celebrates all things sherry. But what does that have to do with whisky? Our very first bottling in 1983 was a whisky matured in a sherry cask from distillery 1. Today, we continue to celebrate sherry and whisky through our sherry cask maturation programme. Enjoy these casks as part of the world’s largest ‘salud!’ to everything sherry.

Tasting Notes
The nose was a succulent, savoury Chinese meal served alongside smoked pork, seaweed and Belgian fries with mayo. We first tasted a fresh wintergreen mint, followed by candied seaweed and fried sesame seeds in a soft morning roll with salted beechwood-smoked butter and olive oil. Adding water turned the nose toffee-forward, some salted peanuts arriving as a precursor to bramble jelly and fig rolls. The finish was sweeter but less salty, delivering a brioche bun with smoked strawberry jam, poppy seeds and a splash of old brandy.
