A summer landscape

The nose ranged over a landscape of wood, cereals, fruit and spice. We found pine shavings and sawdust, muesli, pineapple chunks, whitecurrants and lemon zest, banoffee pie and honey, white pepper and clove. The palate was sweet, zesty and lively, delivering fruit chews, wine gums, soor plooms and tropical fruits (pineapple, mango, melon); with chilli oil, white pepper and eucalyptus to finish. The reduced nose was dominated by citric, fruity and floral notes – chamomile lawns, laurel hedges and lavender honey; sherbet lemons, orange peel, watermelon and rhubarb. The palate, now delicate and elegant, offered pears, white wine, cucumber and mint – a taste of summer.
