We all started snacking on spiced apple rings made from crisp green Granny Smiths and seasoned with either white pepper and cinnamon or desiccated coconut and turmeric. This was followed seamlessly by a sweet and peppery arrival on the palate with the addition of cloves, peppermint and gingersnaps, while the sweetness came mainly from peaches and pears. With the addition of water, the aroma was like a fresh summer breeze while walking through a pine tree forest and across heather fields leading to incredible views over the Moray coast as we enjoyed biting into a sweet and juicy Comice pear.
