The nose promises sweet delights (mochi, bourbon biscuits, Bounty bars, banana bread) some intense fruit (peach, apricot, raspberryade), chilli, Fisherman’s Friends, linseed oil and heather. The neat palate continues the sweetness (cream-filled brandy snaps, coffee liqueur, maple syrup on waffles) repeats the fruit (drenched in syrup) and finds wintergreen, mint and gentle spices to finish. The reduced nose combines the fruit and spice into something reminiscent of mulled wine; also orange peel, grapefruit, gooseberry, manuka honey and donuts. The reduced palate gets condensed milk, oat biscuits, brown sugar and toffee; orange Chewits and pears and again that herbal spice mix to finish.
