Apparently, one should never mix grain and grape but here grain meets grape in a fascinating array of aromas. Smoked champagne cork as well as pinot blanc wine matured in a ‘peaty-whisky’ cask, the result simply stunning! The fresh aroma of citrus and floral meadows was interwoven with a fine spicy and smoky scent. On the palate, a delight. A perfect combination of sweetness, fruitiness and smoke – truly a work with finesse. Water added bundles of smoked heather, vanilla and coconut on the nose while to taste like a lightly smoked dessert wine. In 2017 we combined selected hogsheads before returning the single malt to a variety of different casks to develop further. This is one of those casks.
