Tasting Notes
The nose evoked an ice cream parlour on a sunny day – ice cream cones with raspberry sauce, vanilla custard slices, honey on banana, dark chocolate and crème brûlée topping. Honey, vanilla and custard pastry sweetness were immediate on the palate – followed by ginger cake, spiced rum, black coffee, cinnamon gum and tobacco – a great combination. In reduction, our noses found hot cross buns and spiced orange, flower meadows, Turkish delight and children making cakes with lemon icing and oodles of sprinkles. The palate now supplied cinnamon waffles and custard tarts, orange sherbet and Old English Spangles; the finish – clove, tobacco and chewing twigs.
