Tasting Notes
There was an autumnal feel to the nose – roasting chestnuts, pumpkin pie with cinnamon, clove-studded orange and gingerbread men – but some confectionery too (foamy bananas, rainbow drops, Haribo Tangfastics). The palate gave us tangy mouth tingles from exotic fruit skins and lemon and lime sweets, then sweeter notes of sugary donuts and millionaire shortbread; chilli heat to finish. Apart from some clean wood and a lick of paint, the reduced nose was mainly fruity – gooseberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, banana split and baked apple. The palate was now lip-smackingly juicy and tart – key lime pie, fruit gums, star-fruit, apple slices and rhubarb crumble.
