The nose engulfed the senses with a comforting shroud of blueberry muffins, sticky baklava and Turkish delight. Insulating layers of marzipan and cocoa butter cocooned apples, quince jelly and juicy fruit gum. Delicate floral notes peered through the fibres as lychees, jasmine tea and incense came to the fore. The deep warmth of crystalised ginger and sandalwood spice then combined on a bed of banana skin and melted butter that sweetened with honey to form highland toffee. Juicy watermelon arrived with a dash of water alongside lime marmalade before richer notes of dark chocolate fused with pistachio nuts and wood bark on the finish.
