Tasting Notes

Certainly unusual, maybe even disputatious. One panellist was drawn to Davy Jones’ locker - the others only imagined a wooden beach hut – with picnic baskets containing cinnamon bagels, raisin oat flapjacks, mango and chilli chocolate. The palate was ‘slightly bonkers’; fruits of the forest, sherbet straws, jasmine, Old English spangles, toasted oak and gardening gloves. The reduced nose teased us with stewed fruits, red berries and banana splits, peppermint, parchment paper and a furniture restorer’s workshop. The palate found elderflower cordial, sliced apple and celery dipped in honey, with a dry finish of oak, perfume, cumin, caraway and waxed jackets.
