Tasting Notes

Initially strawberries and cream arrived with tinned sugar syrup and chewy nougat, however following close behind were deeper aromas of tea leaves, tobacco and nut skins. On the palate singed notes of burnt currants and cask char joined red berry cordial and a metallic zing while dried thyme introduced a herbal dryness. Burnt notes continued with water as dusty coal scuttles joined charred oak in a dunnage warehouse. Fruity aromas of raspberries and banana sweets then combined with linseed oil on sourdough bread. Creamy textures on the palate merged with waxy oranges on a bed of ash and cask char before the sweetness of vanilla and caramel faded to leather and tobacco on the finish.
