Tasting Notes

A curious nose – dried marigolds and plum sauce, banana loaf, caramel candies and toffee popcorn, then Beech-nut chewing gum and cigars in a barber shop. The palate was sweet but interesting – Stollen, ginger snaps, sugar-coated fennel seeds and Mexican hot chocolate with chilli and cinnamon – before tobacco, cumin and mace dried the finish. The reduced nose supplied lemon grass, splintered pine and hazelnut shells, salted nuts, linoleum and polished shoes walking over new carpets. The palate combined sweetness (vanilla custard over apple and bramble crumble, apricot Danish and dates) with a mouth-drying finish of rosemary, sage, caraway Kummel and liquorice allsorts.
