Tasting Notes
The nose, fragrant and floral, made us think of freesias, rose incense, Turkish delight, crispy-shelled fruit candies, and a perfumed silk scarf in a new leather handbag. Quite lively on the palate – we found abundant confectionery (fruit pastilles, and sweet and sour fruit chews), ripe melon, not so ripe banana and vanilla-infused sugar; the finish – cinnamon and willow twig bitterness. The reduced nose evoked the Caribbean – citrus, banana, coconut and rum – and Danish pastries with toasted nuts, and pears in syrup. The upfront palate was juicy (lemon meringue pie, wine gums and peach) – followed by a finish of pencil shavings, burnt pastry and black tea.
