Tasting Notes
The aroma neat was packed with spirited smoke, tar, liquorice and plenty of medicinal notes, we all thought that we were in for an experience tasting it – and we were not disappointed! Comments of “that is a big smoky beast” and “peat galore” instantly set the scene (after we caught our breath). Smoky hot sauce, burnt fish skin on a barbeque, rock salt with a copious amount of ash and in the finish a menacing medicinal cocktail. With water we smelt an oil slick on the sea before we headed down a coal mine shaft with a Davy lamp exploring endless tunnels, yet always keeping an eye and ear on the canary.
