We were struck by the aromatic intensity of this one, bags of overripe exotic fruits, pineapple chunks under a grill, bike chain grease and touches of caramelised brown sugar, molasses and mango chutney. Superb! With water we got orange oils, furniture polish, preserved lemons in brine and heather flowers. The neat palate showed rosewater, cough medicines, bandages and flambeed bananas. Also subtle touches of peppermint tea and parma violets. Reduction added menthol aspects, more flowers, herbs, eucalyptus and waxy mead notes. This was a unanimous thumbs up from the Panel. Matured for 19 years in a bourbon barrel before transfer to a 1st fill French oak Jamaican rum barrique.
