Tasting Notes
A complex concoction of aromas greeted us on the neat nose. Descriptors such as molasses, dried figs, leather, basil, treacle and lemon peel, plus bacon crisps, honey-roasted peanuts and ginger biscuits, were all mentioned. On the palate we agreed on a hearty slice of naan bread pizza with a coriander chutney drizzle. Following reduction, we found orange marmalade with salty wholegrain crackers next to Italian cream cheese-stuffed celery and a savoury dill humus. To taste, we tucked into carrot loaf, tea cake and stroopwafels before we got into warming, spicy territory and drank a date shake made with cinnamon, nutmeg and malted milk powder.
