Tasting Notes
Don’t read the label before you have tried it! A sweet, heady, musky bouquet of floral perfume notes in combination with wood polish and oriental spices was followed on the palate neat by a flavour being equally oily and spicy as well as sweet and grainy with a tremendous texture. Following reduction, warm comforting aromas as we baked an Alsatian pain d’épices with rye flour, generous amount of honey and spices while to taste a mixture of vanilla, oranges and hazelnuts with a cranberry, apple ginger finish. Nothing could have prepared us for this experimental sample first distilled in a column still and then in a pot still – please don’t ask!
