Tasting Notes
This was a complex nose – Panellists mentioned coconut, pineapple and ground coffee, dark chocolate rum truffles, stollen and mashed banana with cinnamon and honey. The palate gave us a mellifluous marriage between the sweetness of maple candies, yum yums and crème brûlée and subtler, earthier elements of balsa wood model kits, tar and mulling spices. On the reduced nose we identified vanilla ice cream, banana cake, candy corns and somebody putting up a Christmas tree wearing new suede shoes. The palate now had an American cream soda ice-cream float, rum and raisin fudge, brandy-soaked sultanas, spiced dates and sweet coconut-scented gorse.
