Tasting Notes
Bottle limited to 1 per member
This is a sensory trip down the rabbit hole – which turns into a chimney – you land on burnt sticks – a nurse applies Germolene, then serves you bran flakes, poached pear and camomile tea – you jump into a swimming pool but come up in the ocean. The taste is invigorating – jumping off a burning ship into the sea – an after-tingle of smoke, charred oak, tar, aniseed, nutmeg and clove – you’re a bearded, baccy-spittin’ pirate. The reduced nose – sea breezes and burning tarry wood (Cornish wreckers on the cliff-top). The mouth experiences liquorice allsorts, burnt fruit-cake and halfzware shag – with a pulsating finish.
