Tasting Notes
On the nose, a barn of hay, a freshly knitted woollen jumper, caramel wafers and straw mats welcomed the Panel into the glass. These were followed by chocolate-coated hazelnuts, delicate pink peppercorns, grapevines and a coating of sunflower oil. The palate was warm and viscous, offering comforting flavours of hot buttered popcorn, soft caramel in chocolate, tinned peaches and birch sap, with hints of ginger and nutmeg layering the background. With water, the aromas deepened: leather gloves, toasted crumpets, autumn leaves, garden bonfire smoke, garam masala and a spritz of lemon and lime pith. The diluted palate retained its lively citrus zest, now supported by bourbon biscuits and black pepper, leading to a mouth-drying, oaky and lightly salty finish.
