Tasting Notes

On the nose, apples, pears and citrus run eventually into emulsion paint, with interesting side runners of Victory V’s, menthol, olive oil biscuits and various botanicals. That faint aromatic botanical echo continues on the palate, with wheat beer, coriander, liquorice and mint; it also has creamy, buttery aspects (foamy bananas and single cream drizzled over fruit salad). The reduced nose evokes honeysuckle growing up the trunks of oaks and pines in a forest. With water, the palate still stands up for itself, proclaiming flavours of Bakewell tarts (with almonds), Battenberg cake, artificial cherries and praline; overall a fine, entertaining complexity.
