A soft sweetness evoked memories of frosted cupcakes and pears dusted with demerara sugar before a tart fruitiness delivered bananas with blood orange marmalade and red apple peel. On the palate, we discovered candied apples and lemon cream with the fragrant spice of cinnamon before creamy vanilla led us to soft watermelon and a zing of grapefruit pith. Then with water, we found a sweet amalgamation of lemon curd, Battenberg cake and strawberry laces with raisins and the soft fruit of pears and guava with elderflower cordial. Spicy notes now became more forward on the palate as mace and cloves joined cumin and orange peel. Citrus oils merged with banana as we concluded with a large helping of golden syrup in Earl Grey tea.
