Typically bonkers Campeltown fun! A big waft of chlorinated swimming pools, Elastoplasts, briny fishing harbours and industrial floor cleaner. Then mercurochrome, seawater, ink and iodine mixed with lemon juice. Water brought out pickling juices, malt vinegar, cornichons and rubber fishing boots. Some salted Dutch liquorice and ash-rolled goat cheese. The neat palate was full of salty gammon, rock pools, seaweed crackers, pickled herring and fermenting lemon juice soaking into bandages. Weird and wonderful! With water we got some kind of distilled fish n' chips. Herring juices, oyster sauce, hot fat, pork scratchings, smoked tarragon and gentian root.
