Tasting Notes

The nose opened with Neapolitan ice-cream, marshmallows and vanilla custard, but a citric surge gradually caught up (lemon pulp, lime leaf, lemon barley water). The palate’s sweet treats were tempered by teasing bitterness – lemon drizzle cake, sugared almonds and burnt toffee; the finish picked up tobacco leaf, tree bark and cinnamon. The reduced nose caught a moment by the pool with sauvignon blanc and lemon-flavoured dark chocolate served on sun-warmed oak. The palate now wandered from a bright dawn of honey, carnation milk and lemon cup cakes to a dry dusk of chilli, cumin, lemon zest and mint flavoured Fisherman’s Friends.
