Tasting Notes
On nosing this one neat, some of us, more advanced in years, remembered Carmen Miranda, the Portuguese-born Brazilian samba singer who popularised the festive and colourful fruit hat. The taste was as outrageous, almost indescribable, immensely tropical, truly a fruit overdose and felt like it should count for your full quota of 5-a-day! Water, if anything, extrapolated the fruity characters with aromas of fruit flavoured, soft taffy candy, peach schnapps, mango ice cream, almond extract and frangipane. On the palate a tutti-frutti salad, a melon medley, coconut, lavender shortbread, passionfruit biscuits and a hint of toasted oak in the finish – must be tasted to be believed!
