Tasting Notes
It was like being welcomed with a big smile and open arms – honey, melon, pineapple and vanilla next to warm cinnamon swirls and a whiff of fruit jam hookah tobacco. On the palate luscious mango arrived first soon followed by honey candied chilli ginger, salted toffee, fresh oak and in the finish dark bittersweet chocolate. With the addition of water banana chips, coconut flakes and apricot jam were revealed as we uncorked a very old wine bottle just brought up from the cellar. Still detecting a dryness, but now with plenty of pleasing fruity sweetness, like that of Cantaloupe sorbet, mango slices and hazelnut crème caramel.
