Tasting Notes
A bottle of this with friends in the garden would be heaven – elegant, refined and beautifully balanced, worthy of a Renoir painting. The nose promises luscious sweetness (golden syrup, flambéed bananas, sugared almonds, toffee) yellow fruits and floral frivolity. The palate ‘singest of summer in full-throated ease’ – buttercups, crème brûlée, Fruit Salad chews and bourbon biscuits. The reduced nose inhabits bee-loud glades of roses and sweet peas, with coconut liquorice allsorts, honeyed flapjacks, custard and stewed apples. The silky-smooth, juicy palate melts mellifluously on the tongue – Toffifees, pineapple cakes, crème caramel and brandy snaps – Speyside summer in a glass – near perfect.
