A wonderfully buttery nose at first, with full on butterscotch, toffee popcorn, coconut sugar and vanilla buttermilk icing. Also, shortbread, honeyed oatmeal and lemon sherbet fizzing in the background. A spritz of pineapple juice too. With water we got golden syrup, yellow plums, greengages, some gooseberry tart with custard and some leaner notes of cornflour and crushed pistachios. The neat palate opened with a wealth of breakfast cereals dusted with icing sugar, soda bread, toasted sunflower seeds and watermelon bonbons. Then cream crackers spread with honey, calvados liqueur and some light rye spiciness. Water brought some lighter and drier tones of starched linens, shilling ales then heather honey, aged mead and scone mix. Some herbal teas and gorse flower in the aftertaste.
