Cask Intro
This 17-year-old Speyside dram is golden sweetness at its finest, matured in ex-bourbon barrels and additionally matured in a first-fill Sauternes barrique. The yummy notes transport me straight back to my childhood, with waves of sugary delights. As a French woman with a sweet tooth, it’s definitely a bottle I’ll be bringing home on my next trip to France. This is the sweet stuff!

Tasting Notes
We combined selected 15-year-old casks from this distillery and then put that single malt into a variety of casks to develop further; this is one of them. The nose – sweet enough for Winnie the Pooh – had runny honey, toffee, chocolate-covered malted milk honeycomb, Turkish delight, fruit flan and toasted ciabatta. The palate's syrupy mouthfeel brought us chewy coconut, ginger warmth and a smattering of floral and spice notes, but mainly the delightful fruitiness of red berries, pineapple, mango, rhubarb tart and white wine sangria. The reduced nose evoked carpet shops and perfume. The palate became a tropical delight – fruity boiled sweets, nectarines and lemons, with chocolate gingers to finish.
