Tasting Notes
The nose suggested various things – flowering shrubs, new suede, beach balls and suntan lotion, burnt toffee, Edinburgh rock, salt and chilli on pineapple and flambéed bananas with brandy butter. On the palate, we identified chocolate limes and parma violets, raspberry pips and pineapple rings, vanilla gelato and warm, flat cola, plus numbing nutmeg on the finish. The reduced nose evoked ice cream cones in a rose garden, subtle herbal notes, coconut milk and unfurling canvas sails on a yacht. With water, the palate turned sweeter, smoother and juicier – mango sorbet, blackcurrant, lemon drops and golden syrup; with a finish of chewed pencils.
