Tasting Notes
The immediately attractive nose evoked impressions of summer – déjeuner sur l’herbe with chocolate cake and apricot jam on croissants or an afternoon by the cricket pavilion. The palate combined sweetness (candied orange and lemon slices, cinnamon buns) with a tingling finish of black pepper, nutmeg and oak. The reduced nose opened up carpet shops and flat-pack wooden furniture, along with enticing aromas of orange peel, dried flowers, jelly beans and fruit-flavoured chews. The palate was still floral (rose petals, parma violets), sweet (caramel apple granny cake) and warming (chilli rice crackers) but now with even greater elegance – a positive, uplifting dram.
